Shinto Sects
Sects Jinja (Shrine) Shinto is the closest type of traditional Shintoism that is said to exist. The division of Shintoism into sects began in the 19th century, and now includes thirteen major independent sects. These include:
- Fusokyô
- Izumo Oyashirokyô
- Jikkokyô
- Konkokyô
- Kurozumikyô
- Misogikyô
- Ontakekyô, formerly known as Mitakekyô
- Shinrikyô
- Shinshukyô
- Shinto Shusei-ha
- Shinto Taikyô, known before World War II simply as Shinto
- Taiseikyô
- Tenrikyô
